The King Climbers guidebook describes limestone climbing, sport climbing and Deep Water Soloing (DWS) around the popular resort of Krabi in southeastern Thailand. Here, the limestone cliffs of Thailand's magnificent Phra Nang Peninsula are home to the famous Railay and Tonsai climbing areas, largely all of which are described. The manual includes more than 1,000 routes, more than 600 of which have been newly created with titanium bolts. An icon for each route indicates whether the bolts are titanium, stainless steel, or even unsafe! Refreshing honesty about safety is always a sign of a good guidebook. All routes are mapped in French grades on topos including the number of express slings needed for each route. At the beginning of each area there is a map, a description of how to get there, and some general information about the area and the climbs. Like Railay and Tonsai in Krabi, the climbing guide also covers climbing on Phi on Phi Island, Phi Phi Don area, Koh Yao Noi Island in Phang Nga Bay, and Trang province, including Laoliang Island. Brief details on climbing in central and northern Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia are also included. Published in January 2017 (9th edition), this guide is in English only and includes many stunning photos.
