"The guidebook that the world still needs" was the subtitle of the first edition of the Kochel book. What sounded cocky, was obviously correct, because we already reached the fourth edition. As usual with a detailed boulder part and - hear - even aDWS (deep water soloing).
Spectacular pictures show the progress in Kochel regarding the difficulties. There are also short portraits of all Kochel stars. The increase in the level was accompanied by the decoding of numerous project lines, which means that there is still a 9+ on the top list in position 110. Shifting the level of difficulty upwards is certainly also a result of increased bouldering activity.
But not only the heavy athletes can look forward to new material. Even for more moderate climbers, the offer has increased. New tours are available at the sector Urinstein, at Kienstein and at the meadow wall. The Riversidewall has been re-recorded in this guide, and around the Rocky Wand, the range of routes has expanded to include the tours on the Roxy wall (for kids) and the Graue Platte.
Overall, an effective medicine against grueling urban boredom, not guaranteed free from side effects.
